F1 McLaren & Lewis Hamilton On Pole In Shanghai

The Formula One Championship 2008 has two grand prix left to decide which driver will wear the crown this year. Ordinarily, I’d feel it’s in the bag for Lewis Hamilton and McLaren, but although Hamilton has pole in tomorrow’s race in China, it’s with great trepidation that I’ll watch it on TV.

I’ve enjoyed Formula One racing for around ten years, but when Fernando Alonso exploded onto the scene and won the F1 Drivers Championship in 2005 and 2006, it became exciting again. When Lewis Hamilton partnered Alonso at McLaren last year, it started to get nasty, and one has to consider whether the acrimonious atmosphere between the two drivers adversely affected Hamilton’s performance in the later stages of the Championship, ultimately losing out by one point to Kimi Raikkonen and Ferrari.

The Formula One Drivers Championship has been on fire this year and Lewis Hamilton lit the fuse, he’s exciting because you know he’ll always fight to the finish, but that could be his fatal flaw.

Play with fire and you could get burned, he needs to learn when to be cautious and don the asbestos gloves…. heh, heh.

Good luck Lewis!

I too am hoping that Hamilton will win the crown this year. I thought that he made a mistake in the last race by being too aggressive .. all he needed was to run a normal race and be in the points. Last year, he did the same thing. Like you said, he needs to be a little more cautious.

I was fortunate to watch him win in Indianapolis last year.

Here’s hoping he can win in China!

    Cheers!

Lucky you to have seen him race and win! (I don’t know the emoticon for green with envy.)

I’m thrilled that he has the Chinese GP under his belt now - talk about tease out the tension to the very last moment! Ah well, in 2 weeks’ time we’ll be put out of our misery, eh?
